At Riverslea Farm, we raise and buy lambs and fleeces for our year-round meat and wool business. Our flock is mostly Border Leicester/Dorset cross. Three black Leicester rams live with the girls and about half of our ewes are black. We have a sprinkling of other breeds including Tunis, Cheviot, Cotswold and Southdown.

We work with our wool and hides from the sheep to the finished product. This helps us understand what it takes to make quality products. We select only our best fleeces for spinners and the mill, then we skirt hard. We visit our mills regularly and listen carefully to their advice.

Finally, we listen to our customers. Washable lambskins and wool blankets have become family traditions for many of our customers. In 1995 we produced our first yarn. Since then we have added variety and color to the yarn inventory. We now produce roving, batts and felt in natural and hand-dyed colors.
